This portrait session had an extra element of fun as we had to dodge both downpours and swarms of mosquitos.  Everyone walked away with more mosquito bites than we would have preferred, but I think these images were worth every one.

Rachel and Josh were married at First Presbyterian Church Lapeer with the reception following at Lapeer Country Club. They had a very lovely service along with a fun reception. I can tell they will be very happy together just from the few hours I was able to spend with them.

Early Spring

Ahh...  Spring time in Michigan.  Will it be 30 degrees and snowing?  Or, will it be 50 degrees and sunny? You never really know what's going to happen until that day! 

I was thrilled to have a lovely spring day this past week, taking advantage of the warmth with a walk in the woods.  Being able to spend some time breathing the fresh air and witnessing nature come to life are some of the best parts of Spring.

What a surprise it was to find out upon arrival that I knew Andrew's parents!

Kate and Andrew had a lovely backyard service and reception.  We also headed to downtown Clarkston for some shooting.  Beautiful day!

I have always enjoyed the romance and mystery of both the fog and frost. I saw that they were both present yesterday morning so the family and I bundled up in the car and went for a morning drive.

I met Rachel and Josh on the UofM campus for their session the Saturday of the Michigan / Michigan State football game. We got started right at kickoff time so we pretty much had the grounds to
ourselves. It seemed to workout that none of us are big football fans... I enjoyed my time with them and look forward to shooting their Lapeer wedding in May! These are some favorites from our shoot.

It was a beautiful fall day at ForMar Nature Preserve. I met several families to walk the woods and take portraits. The weather cooperated very well. I have to admit, taking photos and being in the woods are two things I really can't get enough of. These are some of my favorites of this cute family of four.  Enjoy!
